1. Getting Started with Bible Notes Companion

Bible Notes Companion ("the App") is available on the Apple App Store. After downloading and installing the App, you should be able to launch the App from your phone's applications.

2. Home Screen

Once the App is launched you will be taken to the home screen of the App. On the home screen of the App there is:

• • Bible Douay-Rhems. This button has the Bible Notes Companion Logo at the top of the button. This button brings you to the Bible area where you can make notes and/or set a bookmark (See section number 3. for more information).
• • Manage All Notes & Bookmark. Launching this button brings you to a screen where you can manage your bookmark and all your notes (See section number 4. for more information).
• • Old Testament Verse. Pushing this button will retrieve a random verse from the Old Testament.
• • New Testament Verse. Pushing this button will retrieve a random verse from the New Testament.
• • Information. This button brings you to an information page that explains the sources of the Bible, copyright information, disclaimers, etc.
• • End-User License Agreement (EULA) & Privacy Policy. Links to offline versions of the policies are in the App.

3. Bible Douay-Rhems

After pushing this button you are brought to a screen with a white "X" button which will bring you back to the home screen. You will also notice the content listed below:

• • You can view the books of the Bible by selecting "THE NEW OLD TESTAMENT" or "THE NEW TESTAMENT OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST" button in the "Bible By Book" section.
• • You can view the notes you have made in the Bible by selecting "THE NEW OLD TESTAMENT" or "THE NEW TESTAMENT OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST" button in the "Notes By Book" section.
• • The "Clear List" button will clear the Books list that is retrieved by selecting the prior 4 buttons.
• • The "Go to Bookmark" button will bring you to your bookmark or do nothing if a bookmark has not been set.
• • There is a search bar with a "Search" button and a "Clear Search" button; so, you can search for words or phrases in the Bible. You can set the results per page to be 10 (the default), 25, 50, or 100.

Bible By Book

When viewing the "Bible By Book" you can choose a book from either the Old Testament or the New Testament. Inside each book:

• • You can open the chapters.
• • Set a bookmark and/or make a note.
• • When a note or bookmark has been set, the note or bookmark button will be highlighted blue.
• • You can only set one bookmark at a time and it is linked to the verse you set last.
• • You can add multiple notes to each verse, edit, or delete them. Each note will create a link to that verse to act almost like another bookmark but with note capabilities.

Notes By Book

When viewing your "Notes By Book" you can:

• • Edit notes
• • Delete notes
• • Click the link that was created when you made the note. The link brings you to the verse you made the note on.

4. Manage All Notes & Bookmark

From the home screen, if you click on the "Manage All Notes & Bookmark" button, then it will bring you to a page can:

• • View all notes
• • Search notes you have made
• • Delete your bookmark
• • Edit, delete, or multi-delete your notes
• • You can download your data as a CSV file or share it as a CSV file.
• • When downloading your file to the device it will save to the Documents folder on your device's storage. The location and file should be similar to this example: Documents/Bible_Notes_Companion_export_1771110.csv

5. Trouble Shooting Tips

The search functionality of the App is designed to return as many results as possible while highlighting the matched search results. Please note that the search highlighting may affect some of the spacing of the words/characters. The search input requires a minimum of 3 characters; however, searching for common words such as "and" or "the" may take a long time to return search results and may make the App appear frozen while it is loading.

When using the search functionality please set your desired number of search results per page before searching (10 results, 25 results, 50 results, or 100 results). Each time the number of results is changed the page re-loads the entire search.

If any issues or glitches occur it is recommended to:

• • Close the App
• • Making sure it is closed via your phone's multi-tasking window
• • Try and re-launch the App
